About

Who We Are

Home & School (H&S) is an association of Willingdon parents who work together to plan events and activities to enhance the children’s education and foster a sense of community at school. We help distribute news to the Willingdon community, but we are not a policy-making body.

About H&S

Home & School is directed by an executive: Co-Chairs, Treasurer, Secretary, Family Support Fund Co-Chairs, Communications and Website Coordinator, who are elected for a two-year term. We also need coordinators to organize and lead events, as well as volunteers.

We need you! Many hands make light work. Even an hour or two here and there makes a huge difference to our success. Meetings occur about six times a year and all parents are welcome to attend at any time! Lots more info about volunteer opportunities will be available throughout the year.

We Can Always Use Some Extra Hands

If you can lend us even a couple of hours of your time this year, it will make a huge difference to our success. Please take a look at the list of opportunities and consider adding to our diverse pool of parent talent and skills! We understand that schedules change along the way, and we will always contact you ahead of an event to confirm your commitment.

Social Responsibility

Caring for Our Planet & Community

Home & School is committed to going green in as many aspects as possible.

We have been working on supporting local businesses, and balancing the responsible use of parents funds with the ethical implications of supporting large chains vs family owned businesses. This same attitude guides all our events, we try to minimize using chain stores and try to source things locally where ever possible. For example, we’ve switched our Pizza Day supplier to a local pizzeria, and are holding used Book & Puzzle Fairs.

In the spirit of reducing paper waste, all registrations are exclusively available on our website:

Willingdon Home & School

Our History

For nearly eight decades, the Willingdon Home and School Association has been the steadfast anchor of our community, tracing its roots back to its founding in 1943. In an ever-evolving world where societal norms shift and roles transform, one constant remains: the unwavering dedication of Willingdon parents to enhance the school experience and foster a strong sense of belonging. Through the passage of time, the essence of our association has remained unchanged — a beacon of support, a hub of collaboration, and a testament to the enduring spirit of community. Many families choose Willingdon for its community spirit which thrives through strong, active parent participation.
